Tyre Ruins & Sea Side with Mira’s Guided Tours

Mira’s Guided Tours are heading to the beautiful Tyre on Sunday February 17!

Tyre صور, “The Mother of Europa”, “The Queen of the Seas”, and the famous island desired for so long by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar as well as Alexander the Great, is our next destination.

Tyre’s history goes back to the third millennium (B.C.) as a Phoenician city state on the southern Canaanite coast, yet nowadays it is a city famous for its rich Roman/ Byzantine ruins. Therefore, our visit will begin at the Al Bass Site where we will explore the Necropolis, pass under the famous Tyrian Archway and continue our discovery to the Grand Hippodrome one of the largest of the Roman period. 

The second part of our visit focuses on The Maritime site with its Roman Baths, Palaestras, markets, and streets paved with mosaic. A chilled visit of the beautiful Christian neighborhood, the refreshing sea side and the old port will follow, before having lunch & heading back to Beirut around 3/4 PM. 


Our guide will be Elissar Baalbaki whose soul fits well with Mira’s Guided Tours’ approach, concept and spirit. Elissar is passionate about Tyre and has been guiding tourists for almost 18 years. She will share with you her knowledge and love for this city during this day trip to the south of our beautiful coast.

Departure from Beirut: 
Building with Dunkin Donuts shop facing Martyr’s Square, Downtown Beirut at 9 am (A bus for 35 persons will be waiting from 8:30 am)

Meeting point for people already in Tyre: 
Main Entrance of the Al Bass Site at 10:45 /11 am
Return to Beirut: Afternoon (around 3/4 pm)

Price of the guided tour: 30 000 LL ($20)
Bus: 20 000 LL ($13.3)
(Payment: the day of the trip) 

This walking tour might not be a good fit for kids younger than 10 years old. The fees are the same for all ages. We strive to make our tours as relaxing and enjoyable as we can make it.
